Finally…after 18 seasons, 400 episodes and countless cameos..The Simpsons movie is here. Some say too little too late but I’ll guess we’ll see. Lately Simpsons episodes have become a joke. The stories jump all over the place, like a Seinfeld episode, and Homer’s antics have become ridiculous instead of endearing. I might be alone but I miss the original seasons where morals, family and doing the right thing were the theme instead Homer dancing with Pigs or meeting celebrities. Even other main stream shows find it amusing to make fun of the Simpsons. South Park did it an episode where every scheme they tried was answered with a “Simpsons did it.” Family Guy has, I believe, on more than one occation down right made fun of the Simpsons. So it leaves you to wonder are the Simpsons finally jumping the shark?
On a lighter note. The movie website does have a cool option to create yourself as a Simpsons character complete with yellow skin and four fingers. (Trivia Nugget for you..the only person who appears with five fingers is God in the Simpsons world..intersting observance.)

Speaking of Scrabble I have discovered a Girly Girl’s dream! The Special Edition PINK Scrabble! This is a specially designed Scrabble to benefit the Breast Cancer cause. It can only be bought through Amazon though. If I didn’t already own two and a half boards (yes, half..travel Scrabble) I would totally buy it. I might still buy it…actually..hey it’s for a good cause…
This is for all of you “Word Nerds” out there. *) Scrabulous has online Scrabble play and an option to play with a friend through email. Excellent for those Scrabble fans who can’t get enough of the game. Try it with a fellow “Word Nerd”. Ooh I like that. I think that will have to be our Scrabble club name..if we had a scrabble club…. Superchick! Now this is one of those bands that you think you’ve never heard of..but you have. This empowering rock/pop group has spat out some awesome songs some of which you already know. “One Girl Revolution” and “Perfect Day” from off the Legally Blonde soundtrack. This band has some excellent new music out and their lyrics range from cute to cutting to clever. Some songs like “princes and frogs” seem downright silly while “Stand up” and “One Girl Revolution” are empowering. Of course, the newly released “Beauty from Pain” is so entirely well written that I cry each time I read the lyrics. Check this band out!
