Fabe’s All Natural Bakery…

Fabe’s All Natural Bakery

This company has really yummy cookies.  I tried the Oatmeal Raisin and the Macaroons.  This brand is great because I am allergic to most packaged foods.  These are made with all natural sweetners and there are no preservatives or chemicals.  And…the Oatmeal Raisin cookies were the BEST I’ve ever had!  You can buy them at Sprouts and Whole Foods.

It’s a little much.  I could only eat one..barely.

But The Old Man put two down with ease.  I swear he’s not human.

My new Bento boxes!

Posted by sparklemag on May 11, 2008

I am so jazzed!  I just ordered two bento boxes from ebay.  They should be here in a couple of weeks.  I can’t wait!  I’ll already be out of school by the time I get them but it should still be cool for lunch next school year.  Using Bento boxes is a Japanese tradition.  Food is sectioned and elaborately prepared.  The modern version of it is really fun and cute and makes having lunch fun.  I never bring my lunch so I am hoping this will motivate me to take time and make my lunches.

 Some fun bentos.

Fry Bread Breakfast

Posted by sparklemag on April 15, 2008

There are few things more delicious than fry bread.  When I was younger we used to eat this at our school’s fiesta (carnival) each year.  I was so excited when I saw they had one at the mall.  Yum!  For anyone who doesn’t know there are a few variations.  You can have beans and cheese, or beans, cheese and lettuce, tomato or red chile or the best way to have it…with honey and powdered sugar.  Something awesome about hot fried dough with honey and sugar all over it!

How to make a Shirley Temple!

Posted by sparklemag on January 21, 2008

Does anyone remember the days before hangovers and way too much drinky? Well, I do. I remember having my first Shirley Temple at the Nutcracker with Liz and Kathy. It was like the coolest thing to a little kid. A kid cocktail! I’ve always wondered what was in it. Well, now I know and I got a few new recipes to try. Yum! Try this one as your sitting at home on a weekday.  Good clean fun..

1. Put some ice in a glass.
2. Fill the glass 3/4 full with lemon-lime soda or ginger ale.
3. Top it off with grenadine.
